It's my birthday

Well it was yesterday but it's still my birthday week!

In my opinion, every birthday needs balloons so it was great waking up to this:

The highlight of my day though was seeing the beautiful cake that my amazingly talented friend had baked for me. The colours were fantastic and the cake itself was delicious. I would definitely recommend her to anyone in Surrey or surrounding areas.

I have played some golf each birthday for the past two years so after working in the morning, I went to do some short game chipping and putting practice and then worked on my irons on the range. The weather was very variable with a mix of bright sunshine one minute and then torrential rain so I didn't head out on the course. However, I am very excited to try out this birthday present the next time I'm on the course:

As you can see, I got the Garmin Approach S20 which is the main present I wanted for my birthday. I had a discount code but it retails for around £160 online. There are more recent models of this watch for example the S60 which has a colour touchscreen and retails for around £400 but for my first golf watch I think the S20 will be a good start and give me the analysis I need. I have had several recommendations from lots of you about this device so I will keep you posted with how I get on but do let me know if you have any other tips.
